What Charter Boat Fishing Charters can take you on the fishing adventure of a life time aboard their beautiful 12metre fishing boat "Huntress". Huntress is a westcoaster style boat, powered by a 450hp diesel engine and featuring a huge aft deck with awning that is suitable for both bottom and sport fishing charters. Because of her size and design, Huntress is ideal for fishing the waters off the Continental shelf out from the northern tip of Fraser Island and also the Southern Gutters in the Northern region of Hervey Bay. Huntress is capable of speeds exceeding 25 knots so she is capable of getting you to the best fishing grounds quickly and also in weather that keeps many other boats at home. She is the only local day fishing boat in survey to take you to the Althea wreck which is alive with many large fish and include a wide range of species. Large Cobia and Coral Trout are common. Off the continental shelf, bags including Pearl Perch, Green and Rosy Jobfish, Blue Parrot, Red Emporer, Coral trout and Sweetlip are common.
Huntress departs from Urangan Boat Harbour at 5:30am for most trips and returns to the harbour around 4 pm. All current model fishing gear and bait is provided. Your catch will be cleaned and iced for you. On all day tours lunch is included in the price. Cold drinks are available for purchase on board. The vessel is also equipped with a marine toilet. Your skipper is Josh Wight who has skippered many fishing boats in the region and has fished these waters since he was a boy. His experience and local knowledge will ensure you have a successful day. Huntress is equipped with the best navigation and electronic equipment money can buy to help guide your trip to a successful conclusion.
During the year night trips will also be available to target particular species such as snapper. Huntress is also available for full boat charter for both game fishing and diving charters. Extended charters to the Bunker Group on the Great Barrier Reef are also available. Josh holds an open master class five ticket, MED 2 ticket and is also a qualified Padi divemaster.
